TRAVEL & HOSPITALITY EMPLOYMENT TYPES
Full time - A full time employee usually works on average 38-40 hours per week and is either a permanent employee or on a fixed term contract. Full time employees are employed on an ongoing basis until the employer or employee ends the employment relationship.
Part time - A part time employee works, on average, less than 38 hours per week and usually works regular hours per week. Part time employees are either permanent employees or on a fixed term contract. Part time employees are usually employed on an ongoing basis until the employer or employee ends the employment relationship.
Contract/Tempoary - Contract or Temporary employees are employed for a specific period or to complete a specific task. For example, a temporary engagement may be to fill a gap in a team for an ongoing period (may convert to permanent) or a 6 month contract where employment ends after 6 months.
Casual/Vacation - Casual employees usually work irregular hours. A casual employee does not have a firm commitment in advance from their employer about how long they will be employed for, or the days (or hours) they will work.
